System Sensor 2W-B i3 2-Wire Photoelectric Smoke Detector with Mounting Base, White

The System Sensor 2W-B is a conventional two-wire photoelectric smoke detector from the i3 Series. Designed for connection to a compatible fire alarm or security control panel, it combines reliable smoke detection with a plug-in design that simplifies installation, inspection and maintenance.

The included mounting base can be prewired before the detector head is installed. A large wire-entry port and in-line terminals with SEMS screws provide ample room for routing 14–22 AWG wiring. Once the base is secured, the detector attaches using System Sensor’s Stop-Drop ’N Lock mechanism.

Drift compensation automatically adjusts for gradual changes caused by dust and other contaminants in the sensing chamber. Smoothing algorithms help reduce nuisance alarms caused by brief electrical or environmental interference.

Wide-angle green and red LEDs provide immediate visual status information. The green LED indicates normal standby operation, while the red LED identifies alarm or out-of-sensitivity conditions. A built-in test switch supports routine system testing.

When used with a compatible i3-equipped control panel or optional 2W-MOD2 maintenance module, the detector can provide remote maintenance signaling and EZ Walk loop testing. These features help technicians identify detectors requiring service and verify initiating-device circuit wiring.

Compatibility and Installation Notice

The 2W-B is a system-connected smoke detector, not a standalone household smoke alarm. It does not contain an internal sounder or backup battery. Alarm notification must be provided by the connected fire or security system and its notification appliances.

Two-wire smoke-detector compatibility depends on the control panel, initiating-device circuit, end-of-line components and permitted number of detectors. Confirm that the 2W-B is specifically listed as compatible with the intended control panel before ordering or installation.

Installation, detector placement, wiring, testing and maintenance should be completed by a qualified fire-alarm professional in accordance with the control-panel documentation, applicable codes, NFPA 72 and the authority having jurisdiction.
