The Honeywell Home 5800MINI is a compact, surface-mounted wireless contact designed to monitor a single door or window on compatible Honeywell Home 5800 Series security systems. Its slim white housing measures only approximately 0.25 inches deep, allowing it to blend discreetly with ornate doors, casement windows, double-hung windows and other applications where appearance matters.
The sensor operates at 345 MHz and transmits an opening signal when the included magnet moves away from the internal reed switch. Color-coded LEDs simplify installation and maintenance: a blue LED helps confirm correct magnet alignment, a green LED indicates signal transmission and a red LED warns of a low battery.
Installation requires no wiring. The transmitter mounts to the stationary door or window frame, while the magnet mounts to the moving section. Double-sided adhesive tape is included for quick installation, and the case opens without specialized tools for battery replacement.
The 5800MINI provides one wireless protection zone and includes case-tamper supervision. It has a manufacturer-specified transmission range of up to 200 feet under favorable conditions; construction materials, metal surfaces and radio interference may reduce the actual range.

LED Indicators
- Blue: Confirms that the magnet is within operating range during installation.
- Green: Flashes when the sensor transmits a wireless signal.
- Red: Flashes when a low-battery condition is detected.
The blue and green installation LEDs remain active for approximately 15 minutes after the battery is installed or the cover is removed.
System Compatibility
The 5800MINI is designed for security systems and receivers that support Honeywell Home 5800 Series 345 MHz wireless transmitters. Compatible installations can include:
- Honeywell Home VISTA control panels equipped with a compatible 345 MHz wireless receiver or RF keypad
- Supported Honeywell Home LYNX and Lyric systems
- Other control panels specifically documented to support Honeywell 5800 Series transmitters
Important Compatibility Notice
The 5800MINI uses traditional one-way, non-encrypted 345 MHz communication. It is not a SiX or ProSiX two-way encrypted sensor.
It does not connect natively to Honeywell Home or First Alert ProSeries panels that only support ProSiX devices. An appropriate legacy-wireless takeover module may be required. Always confirm the control panel, receiver and available wireless zones before ordering.
The contact also does not connect directly to Wi-Fi or send notifications independently. Remote alerts depend on the connected alarm panel, communicator and monitoring or interactive-services plan.
