Radionix DS160 High-Performance Request-to-Exit PIR Motion Sensor with Sounder, Light Gray

The Radionix DS160, manufactured by Bosch, is a high-performance passive infrared (PIR) motion sensor designed for touchless request-to-exit (REX) applications. When installed above or beside an access-controlled door, the DS160 detects movement within the selected coverage area and activates its relay output according to the configured access-control settings.

Designed for residential and commercial access-control systems, the DS160 combines adjustable timers, door monitoring, an integrated sounder, and precise coverage control. Its wrap-around detection pattern can be aimed vertically and masked to focus coverage on the intended exit area.

The exclusive Sequential Logic Input (SLI) allows a second detection device to be connected and requires events to occur in the correct sequence. This helps prevent an object passed through or underneath a door from unintentionally activating the request-to-exit sensor.

When connected to a compatible door contact, the DS160 can monitor the door and activate its adjustable sounder if the door remains open longer than permitted. The relay latch time can be adjusted from approximately 0.5 to 64 seconds, with selectable resettable or non-resettable operation.

The DS160 features a light-gray ABS housing for wall- or ceiling-mounted installations. The comparable DS161 model provides the same core functionality in a black housing.
