The Honeywell Home 5853 Wireless Glassbreak Detector is an acoustic glass-break sensor designed to detect the sound patterns produced by breaking glass within a range of up to 25 feet. Designed for compatible Honeywell Home and Resideo 5800 Series wireless security systems, it provides reliable perimeter protection for windows and other glass areas without requiring hardwired connections.
The 5853 uses a FlexCore™ Application-Specific Integrated Circuit signal processor to analyze sound frequency, duration, and amplitude in parallel. This allows sound data to be processed 50% faster, helping the detector identify glass-break events while minimizing false alarms.
Four selectable sensitivity settings—Maximum, Medium, Low, and Lowest—allow installers to adjust detection performance for the protected area. The detector recognizes the acoustic characteristics of several common glass types, including tempered, wired, laminated, and ordinary plate glass.
The Honeywell Home 5853 can be installed on a wall or ceiling within 25 feet of the protected glass, with no minimum-range limitation. LED indicators communicate test mode, alarm activations, and trouble conditions. Front- and back-case tamper protection helps identify unauthorized removal or opening of the detector.
